Join us for a free screening of our new special, “Oregon’s Animation Magic” in advance of the TV premiere.
At just about any moment in the Northwest, someone is making animation. Go behind the scenes with Oregon Art Beat to meet the people who make Oregon one of the animation capitals of the world!
The screening event will feature the half-hour special followed by a Q&A with OPB Producer Eric Slade and artists from the show. You’ll also have a chance to enter a random drawing to win passes to the 2017 Northwest Animation Festival.
Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.
Venue Note: The event will be held in NW Film Center’s Whitsell Auditorium located on the lower level of the Portland Art Museum.

“Oregon’s Animation Magic: An Oregon Art Beat Special” premieres Thursday, April 27 at 8 p.m. on OPB TV and will be available to watch online at the same time at www.opb.org/animation.
This year’s animation challenge is yet another brainchild of Jamal Qutub – DRAEMS. Take a closer look, think of our favorite motion design tool After Effects and I’m sure you’ll make the draemy connection. Details on the theme or to get signed up as a participant are over at aepdx.org
This year’s demo reel review promises to be our best yet and there’s no better time to polish up your reel and enter it to be reviewed by our expert panel of judges, not only for golden feedback but also great prizes.
This year’s judges include (in no particular order):

This year’s MC is Motion Designer Jarrod Allen.
