Time for another SIGGRAPH Screening, complete with shop talk! Trying a more prime time slot for this one, Friday night June 7 @ 7pm. We’ll screen Missing Link from hometown heroes LAIKA at OMSI on the big big big Empirical Screen, and then reassemble down the street at the Toffee Club (around 9pm) in the back room for a closer look at some of the Compositing and VFX work, presented (with Q&A!) by Lead Compositor Michael Cordova. This is a great chance to catch Missing Link one last time before it leaves theaters, and also catch some stories from the trenches from a key member of the filmmaking team.
The film screening is optional – feel free to come out for the presentation only if you’ve already seen the film. Tickets to the film are discounted to $5, and the presentation after is free.
Link for tickets to the screening (choose June 7 and use promo code ML2019 for the user group discount – or as we don’t expect a sellout, feel free to buy them at the door to dodge the online fee):

As a part of the upcoming OMSI Animation Festival, we will be screening the 2018 SIGGRAPH Electronic Theater program! This show catches the year’s best computer graphic animation and achievements, sourced worldwide and highly concentrated into the maximum dosage you’re allowed to intake in one evening. Here’s a preview trailer of the show that gives a glimpse of what’s inside.
But that’s not all… tastefully paired will be some local high octane computer graphics, via special guest Brian Smith: Creative Director at Minimal Massive. He’ll be presenting the behind the scenes of their most recent cinematic – a trailer for The Phoenix Point Next Life, which dropped just a few days ago and is very much hot off the press! A Cinema4D masterpiece from our local masters.
This is on for Friday, June 21, at 6:30pm, in OMSI’s Empirical Theater. Join us!
Tickets: $7 ($6 for OMSI members)
