7 Days 14 Films 1 Giant Screen
Entertaining. Inspirational. Thought-provoking. Science fiction cinema as both art and insight into popular thinking on the future is celebrated at OMSI’s 2015 Sci-Fi Film Festival.
For one week, the festival will showcase 14 of science fiction’s most memorable films on the Empirical Theater’s four-story tall screen. From 1950’s classics such as Forbidden Planet to more recent favorites like Serenity, the festival’s offerings are sure to appeal to science fiction fans of all ages and interests.
Festival Passes

12-2pm Calling all Trekkies! Get ready for a double dose of Star Trek on the big screen. Join us before the movies to create your own crafty communicator and take your photo with a Klingon, some Starfleet security officers and other friends from The Portland Superhero Coalition. Learn how to bring your illustrations to life with local animator Jesse Jones! Jesse has worked on lots of projects with companies like Bent Image Lab, as well as the television show Grimm, here in Portland. He animates his own cartoons and comics and will be demoing in After Effects for this workshop through PSU.
